Ooredoo Kuwait accelerates 5G network deployment with Infovista partnership
The Kuwait operator will use Infovista Planet solution to streamline design, planning and rollout of its 5G network.
A long-standing partner of Infovista, Ooredoo Kuwait has previously used its network testing portfolio to help the operator optimise mobile network quality and application performance by measuring end user experience.
Ooredoo Kuwait has announced it is accelerating the deployment of its 5G network, by collaborating with Infovista and using the Infovista radio planning portfolio to upgrade over 2500 sites across Kuwait.
Tough 5G competition
Infovista is supporting major 5G trials and deployments with mobile network operators and vendors of 5G networks worldwide, so it’s a strong partner for the operator, who has some tough competition in Kuwait, where the telecom industry is relatively mature and advanced.
The newly extended relationship will see Ooredoo Kuwait deploy the Infovista Planet solution – radio frequency planning software and optimization solution - as a single network-planning tool across its business, for collaboration, continuity, and efficiency.
Optimising 5G site investment
“The Infovista Planet solution will support Ooredoo Kuwait across our 5G planning and deployment phase allowing us to reduce time to market along with optimizing our 5G site investment. Our relationship with Infovista spans many years and this expansion is based on the technical strength of the solution and Infovista’s long term vision towards a full network automation lifecycle solution which we strongly support,” said Essa Haider (pictured), Director Network Planning & Design, Ooredoo Kuwait.
Infovista Planet solution leverages crowdsourced datasets, including a large volume of social media data, for traffic map creation to help Ooredoo Kuwait reach an unmatched level of accuracy when it comes to precise planning for densification to meet the needs of its customers across the country.
Dynamic Spectrum Sharing
Ooredoo Kuwait was one of the first operators to do a pre-commercial 5G launch in 2018, followed by the first international 5G video call in the MENA region, between Ooredoo Kuwait and Ooredoo Qatar. The operator is also the first in Kuwait, and among the first in the Middle East, to deploy Dynamic Spectrum Sharing to fast track the deployment of its 5G network.
